The Gedling Coach Scholarship aims to encourage volunteers, coaches and officials to attend training courses to further develop their skills and knowledge. Courses that the funds can go towards include;
Coaches, officials and volunteers who work live or support clubs in the borough can apply for funding of up to 80% or a maximum of £150 towards the cost of the course.
Sportivate is a £32 million National Lottery funded programme that aims to capture the excitement of sport and is part of the Governments 2012 legacy plan, providing opportunities for people aged 14 – 25 years old to take part in sport. Sportivate commenced in April 2011 and will run for 4 years until March 2015.
Back in August 2011, Sport England announced a new funding stream called "Inspired Facilities" where the focus is made on making it easier for local community and volunteer groups to improve and upgrade their sports clubs or transform non-sporting venues into grassroots sport facilities through an easy application process.
£50million is available between 2011 and 2013 where voluntary and community groups can apply along with Local Authorities and other statutory bodies the £50 million will be split into 5 rounds.
Rounds 4 and 5 to be announced in 2013
This funding Programme uses lottery funding to make awards of between £300 and £10,000 to not-for-profit organisations who want to deliver new community projects to grow or sustain participation in sport.
