Sport England introduced Clubmark in 2002 to provide recognition to the commitment made by sports clubs in developing high quality sessions within a safe and friendly environment and and to ensure that the club is accessible to all.
Club accreditation is also known to sports clubs as Clubmark, FA Charter Standard, Seal of Approval and SWIM 21 which is a process that Sports England recognises the work that sports club do in making their clubs high quality, safe, friendly and welcoming to all.
Only clubs that belong to a national governing body of sport (NGB) which is a Sport England recognised national governing body can gain Clubmark accreditation.
At present there are 33 national governing bodies of sport (NGBs) are licensed to award Clubmark which includes football, cricket, rugby, athletics, canoeing and swimming. If your NGB cannot award Clubmark but is a recognised sport by Sport England then Nottinghamshire County Council has the license to award Clubmark.

To support clubs in achieving club accreditation clubmark provide various templates for clubs to use including guidelines for incidents and accidents, code of conducts for parents and carers and club development plans.
Currently in Gedling there is a total of 30 clubs with accreditation please visit the clubmark website for a list of these clubs.
