Coaches are the key drivers behind sport and physical activity within the borough, and it is important that we continue developing and increasing the number of coaches to ensure more people play sport and reach their full potential.
To ensure the development of our coaches we work with work Nottinghamshire County Council and the National Governing Bodies of sport to ensure that sport specific and generic courses are run at a local level and cost effective for our residents.
There are a variety of courses run locally throughout the year including;

The Gedling Borough Council coach scholarship Scheme has been developed to encourage and support the development of coaches/ officials and volunteers from Gedling or support the clubs within the borough through funding towards the next coaching course (Level 1-3), officiating/ referring course or generic training such as Safeguarding, volunteer management, equity and first aid.

Are you looking to develop your skills in delivering speed, agility and quickness and want to Learn how to develop your athletes fundamental skills, balance, core stability, co-ordination or looking for new or ideas?
Then Gedling borough council provide a mentoring scheme where our qualified Speed, Agility and Quickness coach will provide 6 weeks of mentoring giving you advice and guidance and support whilst you coach at your club.
