Express Yourself

The Express Yourself youth arts project offers young people aged 13 to 17 the chance to build their confidence and develop new skills by exploring different art forms.

The scheme targets youngsters of all abilities who may be vulnerable because they have low self-esteem, emotional difficulties, poor access to mental health services or have been excluded from school.

Express Yourself allows young people to develop new creative skills working as part of a group alongside professional artists in a safe supportive environment. Young people attending this project also have an opportunity to exhibit and showcase their work in the local area and to gain an Arts Award qualification.

Sessions have run in recent months at a number of schools across the borough and at community venues in Netherfield, Killisick, Arnold and Gedling.
