The 'Swim Stars' programme follows the ASA National Teaching Plan which is approved by British Swimming. It starts with the Little Quackers classes at 1 years+and then builds through 8 more stages to create an all round swimmer.
Our Swim Stars scheme aims to develop all aspects of children’s confidence in the water by offering 25 minute lessons which can be purchased in blocks of seven or ten weeks.
The Gedling Swim Stars scheme follows the Amateur Swimming Assocaition lesson plans.
The benefits of learning to swim with Gedling Swim Stars include:
Children are able to join a class at any time, providing there is a space. There is no longer the need to wait for the end of a block of lessons to enrol onto the Swim Stars scheme.
Children are continuously assessed in the lessons by their teacher which is recorded on IPods. After each lesson the child's progress is updated in the system and made available for parents to view via a web based portal.
Children starting swimming lessons for the first time will need to have a valid Gedling Leisure Card.
To register for our swim scheme a parent or guardian will need to complete an application form and in doing so agree to abide by the Swim Stars Terms and Conditions [31kb] of the scheme. Please contact the reception at Arnold, Calverton or Carlton Forum if you are interested in signing up your child.
