Karen Baker DipTP MA DipMP MRTPI has been appointed by the Secretary of State to undertake the independent examination into whether the Gedling Local Planning Document is sound and complies with all the legal requirements. The criteria for soundness are whether the Plan's policies are positively prepared, justified, effective and consistent with national policy.
Carmel Edwards has been appointed as the Programme Officer for the examination and will deal with all procedural, administrative and programming matters. She is independent from the Council and reports directly to the Inspector. The hearings opened on Tuesday 7 February. The venue for the hearings was the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre. All sessions were open to the public to observe.
