Fly-Tipping
Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of rubbish and can:
- Be any refuse bag, bulky or loose material that has been dumped.
- Come from a number of sources including domestic rubbish bags, small trade businesses and large professional fly-tippers.
- Can include furniture, building rubble, carpeting, hazardous waste, fridges and freezers.
If you notice someone fly-tipping please do no approach the offender(s) and do not go through any bags or items as it has been known for some bags to contain hypodermic needles, glass and other sharp objects.
When reporting an incident please provide us with as much of the following information as possible:

- Details of what rubbish has been dumped and approximate size
- How long the rubbish has been there
- Any vehicle details such as the registration number, type and colour. Or any telephone numbers or names on the side of the vehicle.
- Descriptions or name(s) of person(s) you may have found close to the scene.
If we do visit the site we aim to remove rubbish within 4 working days. If you report a hazardous substance such as asbestos or battery acid, we will remove this within 24 working hours.
