Please be considerate to others and take your bins and glass box off the street within 24 hours of being emptied.
These cause an obstruction to pavement users, especially people with a visual impairment and those in wheelchairs or with pushchairs. You are also at risk of personal information being stolen from your bin if you leave it on the street.
There have been recent incidents of fires started in wheelie bins, so we advise you to store the bins away from your house.
Please put them out at the edge of your property by 7.00am on the day of collection (6.00am on public holiday collections).
Please recycle as much as you can. It is Council policy that the supplied wheeled bins be issued on the basis of the number of people in a household as in the following table.
| Number of People in Household | Size of Container to be Issued |
|---|---|
| 1 | 140 litres |
| 2 | 180 litres |
| 3 | 180 litres |
| 4 | 240 litres |
| 5 | 240 litres |
| 6 | 360 litres |
| 7 | 360 litres |
| 8 | 360 litres |
| 9 or more | 2 x 240 litres |
Please contact us if you feel your household needs a bigger bin. A waste audit may be carried out to assess current circumstances.
