If you have got any large furniture or electrical items to dispose of we can collect from your house. Items which are still in good working order may be acceptable to a charity. You can find out by contacting the Furniture Reuse Network (FRN) which accepts donations of good quality furniture, white goods and other household items.
We have three different types of collections.
For the first item of every collection type the charge is £12, up to 3 items - £15, up to 5 items - £20 and up to 10 items - £30.
The three collection types are:-
This means that if you have a washing machine and a fridge that you want us to pick up, you will be charged £12 for each item as they will be collected and disposed of separately.
If you are unable to remove the items from inside your property or wish to cancel or amend a collection request, please contact our Waste & Recycling section. Refunds won’t be permitted if we have already visited your property regarding the collection.
Should you remove of the waste yourself remember you have a legal responsibility to transfer it to an authorised waste carrier. An unlicensed waste carrier may dump your waste illegally and you will be held responsible and liable to a £5,000 fine or could even face prosecution. At the moment, due to the value of scrap metal, there are many vans trawling the area.
Please check if a scrap metal merchant is registered on the Environment Agency website or call 08708 506 506 for more information. You can search the public register of waste carriers. If in doubt please call the police.
