Download a Medical Waste Questionnaire form here. Clinical Waste Questionnaire [92kb] The form will need to be signed by your healthcare professional. All records of collections will remain confidential.
Once you have contacted us and agreed a collection point, we will contact you within five working days. We will send you a letter which will tell you when your first collection date will be and we will provide you with three yellow bags to put your medical waste in. Bags must be tied up and put out at the agreed collection point by 7am on the day of collection. New medical bags will be left for you after each collection.
An additional green bin is available for you if you have excess cardboard packaging e.g. dialysis cardboard waste. This is free of charge. If you have large amounts of non-hazardous waste which are not medical waste, i.e. incontinence pads, you are able to have a second black bin.
Any sharp instruments such as scalpels or needles must be put into special yellow plastic containers (sharps box) and returned to the clinic/chemist where you receive your needles from or to your district health visitor.
Clinical waste is collected by Rushcliffe Borough Council on behalf of Gedling Borough Council.
