Gedling Borough Council is committed to providing a high quality, efficient refuse and recycling service and to achieve this we will:
Empty bins that are presented for collection with closed lids on the designated day and week. In the event of a bin being mistakenly missed we guarantee that it will be emptied at the first available opportunity.
Provide a high quality, value for money service which allows residents to recycle as much as possible.
Keep residents informed of what may be recycled and where.
Supply new or replacement bins based on the number of people living at a property.
Collect waste that is inside the bin. We will not collect side waste.
Respond quickly and efficiently to all enquiries.
Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
To get the most from this service we ask you to:
Take care of your bin and glass box. Please paint your house number on each.
Have your bin out for collection by 7.00am to ensure it is emptied (6.00am during public holiday periods).
Put your bin and glass box out on collection days at the front boundary of your property. Please don’t obstruct the footpath and please remove off the street within 24 hours of collection
Present your bins with the lids closed.
Make sure you don’t leave side waste or overfill your bin.
Make sure the glass box is not overfilled, i.e. fill no higher than the rim (leave any extra in a bag or box at the side)
Not put the lid of the glass box out on glass collection days.
