Neighborhood funding - Parish
Charging authorities are required to pass 15% of CIL receipts directly to those parish councils where the chargeable development has taken place. This increases to 25% where there is a neighbourhood development plan in place or where permission has been granted for a neighbourhood development order.
The Neighbourhood Portion must be spent on:-
- the provision, improvement, replacement, operation or maintenance of infrastructure; or
- anything else that is concerned with addressing the demands that development places on an area.
Guidance notes have been prepared to support parish councils through this process.
