Equipment


The DNA gyms have a good mix of equipment to help you get the most from your workout. Equipment includes cardio and resistance machines, functional training areas and free-weight equipment including lifting platforms and plate loaded equipment.

Available below are some short videos demonstrating how to use the equipment in a safe manner and also some etiquette guidelines for using the gym.

If you are unfamiliar with any equipment or type of exercise then please ask for advice form a member of the fitness team.

Gym User Etiquette

Please respect the gym rules and the needs of your fellow gym users

1 For safety reasons, outdoor coats and bags are not permitted onto the gym floor. Gedling Borough Council accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property.

2 Correct attire must be worn when exercising i.e. suitable comfortable exercise clothing and appropriate footwear

3 Replace all equipment after use into the correct storage area

4 Wipe down equipment after use with a sweat towel or the paper towels provided

5 Members are not permitted to carry out their own personal training business with other members

6 During peak times ensure you complete your exercise promptly to allow other members to use the equipment

7 All equipment must be used in the correct and appropriate manner. If you are unsure as to how to use any piece of equipment you must seek advice from a member of the fitness team

8 Ensure fire exits are kept clear and free from equipment at all times

9 Report any equipment defects immediately to a member of staff. Do not attempt to rectify any issues yourself

10 Do not behave in an aggressive, abusive, intimidating, anti-social or threatening manner or in a way that might cause distress to staff or members

11 You are responsible for your own physical condition; you must inform an instructor if you feel faint or unwell whilst exercising or have any medical conditions that the team need to be aware of
