Cafe 1899

We are re-opening the indoor seating area

We are happy to announce that we have re-opened the indoor seating area at Cafe 1899. Tables need to be pre booked by calling 0115 926 1388, or you can check at the hatch for availability on the day of your visit.

The new outdoor seating area at the front of Café 1899 is open (and dogs are welcome!). Please note that this decking area is reserved for cafe customers only, but everyone is welcome to use the picnic areas around the park for their own food and drinks.

You can also still call at the hatch to pick up take away food and drinks.

Safety measures

Hand sanitisers are available for customers to use during their visit and tables are spaced well apart to enable social distancing.

Customers are asked to continue to wear a face covering in the indoor seating area, when not seated at your table.

Please do not visit the park if you or anyone in your household has Covid-19 symptoms.

Opening hours

July: Monday - Friday, 9am – 4pm, Saturday and Sunday, 9am – 4.30pm

August: Monday - Friday, 9am – 6pm, Saturday and Sunday, 9am – 5pm

Last orders are 15 minutes before the cafe closes.

The indoor seating area will close an hour before the cafe closes, but the hatch will continue to serve until closing time and customers are welcome to use the outdoor seating area even after the cafe has closed.

Toilets

There are a limited number of sinks and toilets in use, therefore we have limited the number of visitors allowed in at any one time.

Please respect social distancing and queue outside if there are already the maximum number of people in the toilets. We have marked areas to help you queue safely. Please do not remove the no entry signage or unlock the toilets that have been locked. These are measures to help keep you and other visitors safe.

We are doing additional cleaning throughout the day and during those times the toilets will not be available. Please wait outside if we are cleaning at that time.

The disabled toilet and baby change are cleaned after each use. To enable this, they are currently kept locked until needed. Please ask at the hatch or counter for the key.

The toilets will close 15 minutes prior to the café closing for a deep clean each day.

If you have any queries, please call 0115 926 1388.

We look forward to seeing you in the park and at Café 1899.
