Due to the COVID-19 emergency, the government has passed emergency legislation to delay the scheduled Police and Crime Commissioner election due to take place on 7 May 2020. This election will now take place on 6 May 2021.
The legislation also gave authority for any by-elections that would normally take place when vacancies on councils arise to be delayed until the same date in May 2021.
Here is a list of the normal schedule of elections for the Gedling area and any additional By-elections. Elections are usually held on the first Thursday of the month.
Dates of elections can sometimes change for example if central Government calls an early election. By-elections are called when a representative resigns or dies.
