Description

Gedling Borough Council is excited to invite everyone to the 2024 Arnold Summer Fair, sponsored by Willmott Dixon, on Saturday 22 June at Arnot Hill Park. The event will run from 11am to 5pm and promises a free day of family fun, events, workshops and live music from the main stage.

Here are just some of what attendees can look forward to:

  • Musical workshops with Orchestra of Objects.
  • Theatre performances telling stories from Gedling with Flying High.
  • Circus workshops and performances with The Circus Hub.
  • Interactive Play with Gedling Play Forum.
  • Penalty shoot-out with the Mapperley Allstars to win prizes.
  • Inclusive Skate Sessions and Art Workshop with Skate Nottingham.
  • Cool cars showcase by Notts Police for the little ones.
  • DJ workshops, archery, and a pogo challenge with the Notts County Council Youth Service.
  • Garden games with Dice and Balls. 
  • Community planting activities with Grow Notts.
  • A range of street food vendors.
  • Plus live music and performers throughout the day on the main stage.

11am Welcome from the Mayor of Gedling followed by a short performance from Flying High Theatre Company

11.10am Burton Joyce Community Brass 

11.45am Deep Down Brass 

12.30pm The Parma Violets 

1.30pm Tribute to Mrs T Anderson following by a gathering at the tree planted in her honour 

2pm Jude Kirk 

2.30pm Lexa Lambert

3pm Chloe Dring

3.45pm GOA Choir

Flying High Theatre Company performances, telling the story of the history and heritage of the borough:

  • 11.30am outside Arnot Hill House

1-4pm Nicky Rafferty stories - next to the Stone Arch

1pm Circus Hub – The Lost Performers Club performance ‘Rebellious Actions’ – and circus workshops all day!

2pm Arnold History Walk around the park with Bob Massey, meet outside the entrance to Arnot Hill House

1-4pm in the Young People’s area:

  • Notts County Council Youth Service  - DJ skills and circus activities
  • Grow Notts  - create your dream garden
  • Skate Nottingham – inclusive skate and arts workshop

The Arnold Summer Fair is free to attend, making it an accessible and enjoyable day out for families and people of all ages. Join us in celebrating this milestone and enjoy a fantastic array of activities and entertainment.

Getting here

Please note that there is very limited parking on site. The park has several bus stops nearby with regular services and is within walking distance of Arnold Town Centre.

The Park is located just outside of Arnold Town Centre, at Arnot Hill Park, Nottingham Road, Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 6LU. 

There are nearby bus stops with regular buses to and from Nottingham City Centre, Calverton, Carlton and Clifton.
