Description
Come and celebrate Love Parks week at Gedling Country Park. Gedling Borough Council are hosting a day of free environmental and creative activities for families and the whole community. There will be opportunities to take part in willow weaving and craft activities, music, stories and pop up theatre and a whole host of environmental and community stalls.
Activities include:
- Performances from HandMade Theatre at 12noon and 2pm - Find out more on the Handmade Theatre website
- Percussion workshops with BeatFeet - Find out more on the BeatFeet website
- The Bees - from Artizani Circus Services - Find out more on the Artzani website
- Gedling Play Forum will be providing play and craft activities throughout the day
- Carlton Male Voice Choir will be performing at 12.30pm and 1.30pm
- Wayside Willow will be running "make and take" willow weaving sessions throughout the day - Find out more on the Wayside Willow website.

Activities will take place in two areas of the park: one by the play area and one by the memorial garden in the centre of the park. There will be signage in the park directing visitors where to go.
Gedling Country Park is one of the Council’s Green Flag parks and has 580 acres of open space, footpaths and wildlife, with stunning views over the surrounding areas. The park has an excellent children’s play area with a mining tower slide, several picnic areas, two viewing platforms, a visitor centre where you can find out more about the history of the park and surrounding area and the fabulous Café 1899, offering hot and cold food and drinks. You could explore the parks tree trail and nature trail at this event too!
