As part of the celebrations for Nottinghamshire Day on Thursday 25 August, we have organised events and activities on Front Street in Arnold, to celebrate all the great things about Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

From 11am we will have a host of fun activities for children with Gedling Play Forum, history walks around the town centre with Arnold History Group as well as street theatre, health and wellbeing hubs and other great activities to celebrate Nottinghamshire Day.

This year’s theme is ‘Shop Local’. The council’s Business Support Officers will be holding events on Front Street, near Arnold Market Place, where a number of new small business enterprises moving in shortly. The Business Support team will also be on hand to offer help and advice to local businesses.

The event is free and takes place from 11am – 3pm on Thursday 25 August:

On Front Street near Arnold Market Place

  • Craft and play activites with Gedling Play Forum
  • Street theatre performances
  • Information stalls and refreshements
  • Help and advice for local businesses

Around Arnold town centre

  • History walks around the town
    • 11am meet at Eagle Square
    • 2pm meet outside Anold Library
  • Children's trail around Arnold

As well as our event, there are lots of other things taking place, organised by Nottinghamshire County Council. They will be hosting a Nottinghamshire Day Festival at Sherwood Forest on Saturday 27 August.
