Our centres have now re-opened! Find out more.

Re-opening info

All of our centres have now re-opened.

Initially this will include the gym areas, racquet sports and swimming pools (including swimming lessons). We cannot restart indoor exercise classes just yet, but have some great alternatives for you to try until we can – including outdoor classes and tailored gym sessions to give you the same workouts as your favourite class, see below.

Booking is now open! Members can book sessions via the app and online or by calling the numbers below. There’s no joining free and no contract – so you’ve nothing to lose! Find out more about our DNA membership including T&Cs.

To join, simply call one of the centres to book in a session or lesson, then complete your paperwork when you arrive at reception for your first swim, gym session or lesson:

  • Carlton Forum Leisure Centre, 0115 987 2333.
  • Arnold Leisure Centre, 0115 901 3690.
  • Calverton Leisure Centre, 0115 901 3800.
  • Redhill Leisure Centre, 0115 901 3630.

The safety of our staff and customers is of paramount importance to us. We have been working with UK Active, CIMSPA, Swim England and government guidelines to ensure that our centres are safe places to work and work out and swim.

We are limiting numbers on all sessions and lessons. The centres have been deep cleaned and we have introduced additional cleaning routines, along with cleaning stations and hand sanitisers, one way systems and we've made pre-booking mandatory, so that we can limit the number of people in each session/class/pool at any time.

The changes we have introduced in order to keep everyone safe are outlined below and featured in our video. Visit the Frequently Asked Questions page for further information.

If you have to isolate due to:

  • having suspected or confirmed Covid-19 symptoms
  • being in contact with somebody with Covid-19 symptoms
  • having received a track or trace call alerting you to having been near somebody with Covid-19 symptoms

please do not visit the leisure centres until after your isolation period has ended.

Extra cleaning measures

All centres were thoroughly cleaned before they re-opened. There is additional cleaning of all centres throughout each day. All equipment will have been cleaned before you arrive for your session.

Cleaning stations will be available in all workout areas and we ask customers to clean any equipment after they have used it.

Hand sanitisers will also be available throughout the centres for you to use before, during and after your workout.

Please ensure you are wearing a face covering whilst moving around the centres.

Reduced capacity and pre-booking

To ensure you can easily maintain social distances from others, you will need to pre-book a time slot for a gym session, a swim or exercise class and only visit within that timeslot, please arrive and queue 10 minutes before your allocated time. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late for your session you may not be allowed to participate. All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance.

To book a session you will need to either be a DNA member or to have a Gedling Leisure Card (and pay as you go). You can apply for a free Gedling Leisure Card here.

Activities are bookable through the Gedling Leisure app and online. If you prefer to book by phone, please call the relevant leisure centre

Gym and classes

We are unable to offer indoor classes at the moment, however there are lots of things you can do as alternatives to help maintain your fitness levels until they return. All of these are included in your membership:

1. Outdoor exercise classes at Calverton Leisure Centre. Including much loved classes such as Studio Strength, Get Ripped and much more. Sessions need to be booked in advance either online or by giving the centre a call on 0115 901 3800.

2. Have a Boditrax scan at Carlton Forum and Redhill leisure centres. Boditrax machines measures body composition and will show your body’s amounts of, fat, muscle, water etc. It’s quick and painless and you can then email the sites for any help understanding the data and for advice on how to work more for your body..

3. Pick up a gym workout card from reception and follow the programme on it to replicate the effects of your favourite class. Book a gym session and pick up a workout programme card from reception when you get there, to suit your style of training. We have a variety of programmes that match the effects of your favourite classes including these (if your usual class isn’t listed, just call your centre to ask which workout cards would suit you best for the same results):

• Get Ripped – ask for a circuit training workout card
• Pilates – pick up a core strengthening workout card
• Studio Strength – go for a body pump workout card
• Kettlebell – grab a kettle bell workout card

4. Book a 15-45 minute virtual exercise session at Carlton Forum and Redhill leisure centres. Book the studio for you and your household/bubble and take part in a workout of your choice. Choose from 1,000 workouts including indoor cycling, mind and body, strength training and dance and flexibility. (We can show you how these work if you’ve not tried them before – simply call one of the centres.)

5. The home workout hub is available for you to work out from home. New workouts will be added regularly.

6. Go for a swim! Our pools are open so join the 1.4 million adults across the UK that said swimming increases their mental health and get fit in a non-weight bearing environment. Burn more calories than walking, running and cycling through a strong 30 minute swim at one of our facilities.
