Local COVID alert Tier 3 update

All of our gyms and pools are remaining open following Nottinghamshire’s move into Very High (Tier 3) Covid alert level, but we are temporarily pausing exercise classes. For more information regarding the changes and what that means for our members visit this page

The safety of our staff and customers is of paramount importance to us. We have been working with UK Active, CIMSPA, Swim England and government guidelines to ensure that our centres are safe places to work and work out and swim.

The centres have been deep cleaned and we have introduced additional cleaning routines, along with cleaning stations and hand sanitisers, one way systems and we've made pre-booking mandatory, so that we can limit the number of people in each session/class/pool at any time.

The changes we have introduced in order to keep everyone safe are outlined below and featured in our video. Visit the Frequently Asked Questions page for further information.

If you have to isolate due to:

  • having suspected or confirmed Covid-19 symptoms
  • being in contact with somebody with Covid-19 symptoms
  • received a track or trace call alerting you to having been near somebody with Covid-19 symptoms

please do not visit the leisure centres until after your isolation period has ended.

Extra cleaning measures

All centres were thoroughly cleaned before they re-opened. There is additional cleaning of all centres throughout each day. All equipment will have been cleaned before you arrive for your session.

Cleaning stations will be available in all workout areas and we ask customers to clean any equipment after they have used it.

Hand sanitisers will also be available throughout the centres for you to use before, during and after your workout.

Reduced capacity and pre-booking

To ensure you can easily maintain social distances from others, you will need to pre-book a time slot for a gym session, a swim or exercise class and only visit within that timeslot, please arrive and queue 10 minutes before your allocated time. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late for your session you may not be allowed to participate. All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance.

Activities are bookable through the Gedling Leisure app and online. If you prefer to book by phone, please call the relevant leisure centre. To book a session you will need to either be a DNA member or to have a Gedling Leisure Card (and pay as you go). You can apply for a free Gedling Leisure Card here until 31 October.

Gym and classes

  • We are asking members to please wear a face covering when moving around the centres, you do not have to wear a covering when exercising.
  • We have made changes to enable social distancing to take place in all areas.
  • Please arrive dressed ready to work out – lockers and changing rooms are out of use.

  • After showing your booking reference at reception, please follow the signage and the one way system in place. You may be using different rooms to the ones you were used to. Our staff and signage will guide you to the correct place.
  • Gym equipment has been spread out with clearly marked areas, to allow at least 2 metres from you and another customer.  Some machines will be marked as out of use and there is a one way system in the gym spaces, to help everyone to keep their distances.
  • All classes also have floor markings to ensure people have at least 2 metres between them and the next person.
