Additional Restrictions Grant 2022

Your business may be eligible for a one off payment this grant if it:

  • Occupies a commercial property in Gedling paying business rates or a fixed rental costs.
  • Is a customer facing hospitality, accommodation, leisure or personal care business.
  • Is a supply chain business to one of the sectors above, evidencing reduced trading.
  • Is currently trading and was trading on 30th December 2021.
  • Is not eligible for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG)

  • Regardless of whether a claim was made, was not eligible for the top up award, paid in January 2022, under the earlier Additional Restrictions Grant Business Support Scheme (ARGBSS) and Strand 1 of the Restart Grants.
  • Has not exceeded the Covid-19 Business Grant Subsidy Allowance.

Grant Amounts:

Customer Facing Businesses

  • £750 for each property with a rateable value or fixed rental costs of exactly £15,000 or under per year
  • £1,250 for each property with a rateable value or fixed rental costs between £15,001 and £51,000 per year
  • £2,500 for each property with a rateable value or fixed rental costs of exactly £51,000 or over.

Supply Chain Businesses

  • £400 for each property with a rateable value or fixed rental costs of exactly £15,000 or under per year
  • £600 for each property with a rateable value or fixed rental costs between £15,001 and £51,000 per year
  • £900 for each property with a rateable value or fixed rental costs of exactly £51,000 or over.

    Information needed for application:

  • If a sole trader, your latest self-assessment tax return (Form SA100) or evidence of your unique tax payer reference.

  • Your most recent 2021/22 business rates bill or a copy of your commercial lease / rental agreement.

  • A full bank statement that covers a period within the last 3 months.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on 28th February 2022

Applications for this limited fund will be considered on a first come, first served basis.

 

Restart Grant

The government has announced a new Restart Grant for businesses to support them to re-open as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and businesses have been permitted to open.

These grant must be applied for through a new application process which will provide up to date business information in order to make accurate payments.

The closing date for applications was 30th June 2021.

How much will you receive?

Non-essential retail

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less - £2,667.00
  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000 - £4,000.00
  • Rateable value £51,000 or more - £6,000.00

Hospitality, leisure, personal care and gym sectors

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less - £8,000.00
  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000 - £12,000.00
  • Rateable value £51,000 or more - £18,000.00

To be eligible, businesses must have a business rate account and be trading on 1st April 2021. Trading can include offering click and collect services or carrying out business activity such as preparing for reopening/managing accounts.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Applies to business closed from 16th February – 31st March 2021 under national restrictions. Closing date for applications for this period is 31st May 2021)

Relates to ongoing national lockdown restrictions. Aimed at businesses which have been mandated to close.

How much will you receive?

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less - £2,096.00
  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000 - £3,143.00
  • Rateable value £51,000 or more - £4,714.00

To be eligible, businesses must have a business rate account and have been trading on 15th February 2021. Trading can include offering click and collect services or carrying out business activity such as preparing for reopening/managing accounts.

Additional Restrictions Grant

Applications for this discretionary grant are now paused with effect from midday on 18th February 2021.

The final payment date for applications received before the pause date will be 30th June 2021.

If you have been asked to provide information to support your application or to allow for any additional funds, you must provide this immediately.

Discretionary grants aimed at supporting businesses affected by reduced trading conditions experienced during national lockdown. Focusing on the hospitality, accommodation, beauty, leisure and non-essential retail sectors and their supply chains.

Additional Restrictions Grant 2021/22

Gedling Borough Council has been provided with a new tranche of Additional Restrictions Grant funding.

This discretionary grant funding is intended to provide support for businesses affected by reduced trading conditions experienced during the extended lockdown restrictions. Focusing on the hospitality, accommodation, personal care, leisure and non-essential retail sectors and their supply chains based on local economic needs. 

These grants must be applied for through a new application process which will provide up to date business information in order to make accurate payments.

Important information

This discretionary grant scheme is a limited fund and applications will be paid in the order in which they were received. 

We are obliged to perform a series of validation checks before funding can be released, we ask that you bear with us whilst we perform these checks.

Businesses that meet the eligibility criteria for a Restart Grant are not eligible for this grant.

 

How much will you receive?

(a) Businesses required to close during lockdown

Hospitality, Leisure, Personal Care, Accommodation without a Rateable Value but with a comparable rent as a proxy for RV:

  • £5,000 if Rent up to £15,000
  • £7,500 if Rent is £15,001 to £51,000
  • £12,000 if Rent over £51,000

Non Essential Retail without a Rateable Value but with a comparable rent as a proxy for RV:

  • £2,700 if Rent up to £15,000
  • £4,000 if Rent is £15,001 to £51,000
  • £6,000 if Rent over £51,000

(b) Businesses remaining open and evidencing reduced trading during lockdown restrictions with rateable value or rent:

  • £1,800 if RV/Rent up to £15,000
  • £2,600 if RV/Rent is £15,001 to £51,000
  • £4,000 if RV/Rent over £51,000

(c) Businesses with no fixed property cost i.e. no rateable value or rent

  • £750 Eligible business which can continue to trade (including taxi drivers)
  • £1,500 Eligible businesses required to close

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed)

Applications and payments for this particular grant have now closed.

Relates to Tier 2 and Tier 3 restrictions. Discretionary grant aimed at hospitality, hotels, bed and breakfast and leisure businesses who were open during Tier 2 restrictions but whose trade suffered as a result.

How much will you receive?

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less - £934 for each 28 day restriction period
  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000 - £1,400 for each 28 day restriction period
  • Rateable £51,000 or more - £2,100 for each 28 day restriction period

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed)

Relates to Tier 3 restrictions. Aimed at business such as wet pubs, soft play centres, adult gaming centres etc. Business who were subject to government mandated closure during Tier 3 restrictions.

How much will you receive?

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less - £667 for each 14 day restriction period
  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000 - £1,000 for each 14 day restriction period
  • Rateable £51,000 or more - £1,500 for each 14 day restriction period

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Addendum

Relates to national lockdown. Aimed at retail, hospitality and leisure sectors forced to close due to the national lockdown enforced from 5th November 2020.

How much will you receive?

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less - £1,334 for each 28 day restriction period
  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000 - £2,000 for each 28 day restriction period
  • Rateable £51,000 or more - £3,000 for each 28 day restriction period 

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Sector)

Aimed at nightclubs, casinos and sexual entertainment venues who have been under mandated closure since March 2020.

How much will you receive?

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less - £667 for each 14 day restriction period
  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000 - £1,000 for each 14 day restriction period
  • Rateable £51,000 or more - £1,500 for each 14 day restriction period

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Tier 4 / National Lockdown) and Closed Businesses One Off Lockdown Payment

Relates to Tier 4 restrictions and national lockdown restrictions. Aimed at businesses which have been mandated to close.

How much you will receive: 

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less:   
    • Tier 4: £238.21
    • Lockdown period: £2,001
    • One off payment of £4,000

  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000:  
    • Tier 4: £357.14
    • Lockdown period: £3,000
    • One off payment of £6,000

  • Rateable value £51,000 or more:
    • Tier 4: £535.71
    • Lockdown period: £4,500
    • One off payment of £9,000

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Tier 3) and one off grant support payment for ‘wet led’ pubs

Relates to new Tier 3 restrictions, which were different to the earlier tier 3 period. Aimed at supporting open businesses in the hospitality, hotels, bed and breakfast and leisure businesses whose trade suffered and businesses mandated to close.

How much you will receive:

  • Rateable value of £15,000 or less:
    • Open:  £934 for each 28 day period 
    • Closed:  £667 for each 14 day period

  • Rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000:
    • Open:  £1,400 for each 28 day period
    • Closed:  £1,000 for each 14 day period

  • Rateable value £51,000 or more:
    • Open:  £2,100 for each 28 day period
    • Closed:  £1,500 for each 14 day period
  • Wet led pubs: one off payment of £1,000

Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant

Your business may be eligible for a grant from Gedling Borough Council if it:

  • Occupies a property in Gedling with a business rate account.
  • Is a hospitality, leisure or accommodation business.
  • Was trading on 30th December 2021.
  • Has not exceeded the Covid-19 Business Grant Subsidy Allowance.

Grant amounts

Grant amounts are based on the rateable value of properties at 30 December 2021.

Eligible businesses will receive a grant of:

  • £2,667 for each property with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under
  • £4,000 for each property with a rateable value of over £15,000 and less than £51,000
  • £6,000 for each property with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or over.

Information you need to complete your application 

  • Your most recent 2021/22 business rates bill
  • A bank statement that covers a period within the last 3 months. This must show the bank account holder name, address, sort code, account number and transactions to demonstrate trading.

The closing date for applications is 12:00 on 18 March 2022.
