CIL Strategic Project Review Consultation
A public consultation in relation to the future expenditure of the Strategic Portion of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is now live. As part of this consultation, we are seeking the views of local residents / stakeholders in relation to the potential strategic infrastructure projects which have been identified by Officers.
Subsequently, Gedling Borough Council are undertaking a public consultation for six weeks to seek local residents and stakeholders views on several new strategic infrastructure projects which have been identified as part of the Councils ongoing work in relation to the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan and Infrastructure Delivery Plan (further information available at https://www.gnplan.org.uk/) which sets out the Boroughs projected requirements for infrastructure and services required to meet the needs of future development.
Gedling Borough Council have used the findings of the IDP to help identify several projects which are considered to be of strategic importance to the future of Gedling Borough.
The projects identified are;
- Active Travel Link Improvements,
- Leapool Roundabout Park and Ride Service,
- Blue-Green Infrastructure Improvement Works,
- Ambition Arnold,
- Carlton Leisure and Community Centre, and
- Gedling Country Park Heritage Centre.
We are keen to hear your views on views on the projects detailed within the ‘CIL Strategic Infrastructure Project Review and Guidance Document’ and whether you would agree or disagree with their inclusion on the Infrastructure List. Comments can be returned using the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Strategic Project Review Response Form on the Councils dedicated CIL webpage.
The public consultation will last for six weeks after which all representations received will be carefully considered and summarised in a final report for Council to make a decision on which projects are taken forwards.
The Council are also keen to hear if there are other potential strategic infrastructure projects which might be worthy of consideration for inclusion on the Infrastructure List. Nominations for projects can be submitted electronically using the CIL Strategic Project Nominations Form which can again be found on the Councils CIL webpage. Given the nature of this portion of CIL funding any such proposal should be able to clearly demonstrate how the project provides a strategic benefit to the Borough. Where projects are more localised in nature then the Neighbourhood Portion of the CIL should be prioritised as the appropriate source of funding. More information on the Neighbourhood Portion can be found on the Councils website.
If you have any queries in relation to the above, or would like any further information regarding the CIL please do not hesitate to contact the Council’s CIL Officer via email at cil@gedling.gov.uk or by calling on 0115 901 3731.
