Consultation and Engagement Strategy
Gedling Borough Council is inviting residents and businesses to share their views as part of a new consultation and engagement strategy. The strategy outlines how the council will involve the community in shaping decisions that affect local services and policies.
The council delivers a wide range of services—from waste collection and planning applications to housing support and environmental protection. While councillors are democratically elected, the council recognises the importance of direct community feedback to improve services and decision-making.
The Consultation and Engagement Strategy sets out when and how the council will consult with the public. This includes legal consultations, such as planning applications, and voluntary engagement on key local issues. The aim is to make consultations more accessible, transparent, and inclusive.
The council acknowledges that resources are limited, but it is committed to engaging with the community where it can make a real difference. The strategy focuses on fairness, ensuring that consultations are targeted, well-timed, and genuinely open to influence.
