Driver licence

Changes to Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Drivers Licence and Private Hire Operator licence applications from 4 April 2022.

All existing Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Drivers Licence holders and Private Hire Operator licence holders applying for a new licence on or after the 4th April 2022, will be required demonstrate they are registered with the HMRC for tax purposes. Without this evidence, the application for a new licence cannot be accepted.

Information on how to register and undertake a tax check can be found on the HMRC website.

Our online application explains exactly what you need to do so make sure you read all the information carefully.

Please be aware, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Medigold are unable to make appointments for Medical Certificates, these will now be carried out by Dr Clamp instead. The application form has been updated to reflect this.

Please use the start button below to register for a taxi licence account. You only have to do this once and then you will have access to apply for a new licence, renew an existing licence, submit a 12 or 24 month declaration or complete the safeguarding training.
