Driver licence
If you are applying for a new licence, or renewing a licence, you will need to log in or register with our online portal before you can make an application.
If you are a new driver with us, before you submit an application we require you to have done the following
- Passed your taxi knowledge test, please phone 0115 9013971 to book
- Passed your taxi safeguarding, please phone 01159013971 to book
- Passed your taxi driving test. All driving tests for Gedling Borough Council applicants are carried out by Nottingham City Council. Please call 0115 8761444 between 10am and 2pm to book your driving test. Payment for the test will be taken by Nottingham City Council
- Arrange your medical examination. We can only accept medical certificates from Dr M Clamp or Dr Adam Conner, at The Cornerhouse, Rectory Road, Colwick, Nottingham NG4 2DU, telephone 07802 850 084. You will be given a medical certificate by the doctor.
Please use the start button below to register for a taxi licence account. You only have to do this once and then you will have access to apply for a new licence, renew an existing licence or submit a 12 or 24 month declaration.
Once you have registered contact Customer Services Licencing on 0115 9013971 to get your account authorised. You will need your driving licence number, a contact telephone number and email address.
If you are a current driver you can continue to email your documents to us at customerservicestaxi@gedling.gov.uk or post them in.
All licencing payments are now taken by debit/credit card. Check how much it costs on our fees page.
