Following the announcement on Friday by Buckingham Palace of the death of H.R.H The Duke of Edinburgh, more details have been announced about how local residents can pay their respects in a covid secure way.

In accordance with public health advice, members of the public are asked to continue to follow the current Government guidance, not to gather in crowds, and not to visit Royal residences to pay their respects.

During this time the Royal Family ask that members of the public consider making a donation to a charity instead of leaving floral tributes in memory of The Duke of Edinburgh. Residents can also sign the official online book of condolence by visiting www.royal.uk

The council has lowered its Union Flag to half-mast as the borough of Gedling and the nation mourn the loss of His Royal Highness.

The Mayor, Leader and Chief Executive of Gedling Borough Council have written a letter of condolence to Buckingham Palace.
