Veolia strikes – recycling bin collections may be affected

We have a range of practical, healthy and fun activities you can get involved with. As well as helping to keep your park in a great condition you'll also meet new people, get plenty of exercise and fresh air and have fun!

You don't need to stay for all of a session - if you can only spare half an hour that's fine.

As the work is all outdoors:

  • the weather can affect things - contact us beforehand if in doubt about a session going ahead
  • wear sensible boots/shoes and suitable clothing.

You can find out more about this on our volunteering policy page.

'Friends of' groups

There are several 'Friends of' groups that take an active role in maintaining and developing a particular park or open space. Find out more on our 'Friends of' page.

To find out more about any particular session, volunteering in your park or Friends of groups don't hesitate to contact us.

If you are interested in attending the sessions please contact Jane Richardson, Parks Development Officer, Gedling Borough Council 0115 901 3963 or email:
