Do I need planning permission?
Gedling Borough Council does not provide a Duty Planner Service. Useful advice as to whether you need planning permission can be found on the Governments interactive house on the Planning Portal (link Do you need permission? - Do you need permission? - Planning Portal). (this is a free service).
If you would like to find out if you need planning permission you can complete a Questionnaire for Planning and Building Regulations link Questionnaire for Planning and Building Regs (gedling.gov.uk) (payment is required).
More detailed advice can be provided by completing the pre- application advice form (link Pre-Application Form (gedling.gov.uk)). This is an optional service before applying for full planning permission that allows you to understand how the development policies will apply, gain advice from an planning officer, identify any potential problems and rectify them before a full planning permission application is submitted. Please note this is a chargeable service.
