We work with a wide range of partners in and around the borough to support residents and businesses. We also work closely with neighbouring councils and Nottinghamshire County Council across all of our work as well as with local bodies that provide business support and help.

Employment and Skills
The Gedling Employment and Skills Group brings together local partner organisations and community groups with a common goal of improving opportunities for all involved and also includes information and links to organisations who can offer skills training and support to those in the borough.

Federation of Small Businesses
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) helps smaller businesses achieve their ambitions. The FSB is the UK’s largest grassroots business campaigning group, which ensures the voice of small businesses is heard at the highest level across the UK.

East Midlands Chamber
The East Midlands Chamber represent businesses in the region and have a membership of over 4,300 businesses. A wide range of business support services are provided, from lobbying and campaigning to workforce training and development.

Gedling Business Partnership
Gedling Business partnership is a forum for local businesses to network with each other and develop opportunities. It provides support and information to local businesses and provides a contact point with the council and other agencies that deal with commercial matters.

Department for Work and Pensions
Gedling Borough Council co-locates with the Arnold Jobcentre enabling joint events to be hosted at council buildings.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is a government department are building an economy that works for everyone, so that there are great places in every part of the UK for people to work and for businesses to invest, innovate and grow.

NVB
NBV offer a wide range of business support ranging from help growing your business, funding and training events. NBV also have a scheme for start-up businesses and offer support to all businesses across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Greater Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.

D2N2 LEP
A Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is a locally-owned partnership between local authorities and businesses. The D2N2 LEP plays a central role in deciding local economic priorities and undertaking activities to drive economic growth and create local jobs. 

D2N2 Growth Hub
The D2N2 Growth Hub provides businesses in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire with a single point of access to business support. They are able to offer dedicated one to one business advice sessions and help your business grow.

Procurement
Gedling Borough Council is part of a number of networks on which it publishes its tender opportunities. Business can register with these and be made aware of opportunities that may be of interest. These include:

The Council is keen to encourage local procurement where possible and interested businesses from both within and out with the Borough are encouraged to register.
