Calverton changing facilities maintenance
The male and female swimming changing facilities will be unavailable at Calverton Leisure Centre from Tuesday 29 August due to essential maintenance work taking place until the 7 September.
During this time, the changing facilities in the lower building will be available for swimmers to use and there will be a one way system in place amongst other changes. Please note that these changing rooms may be busier than normal during the maintenance works.
The accessible changing room will be available as normal.
There will be some changes to the regular swimming sessions while the work is carried out. All timetabled sessions can be found on the online booking webpage and on the free Gedling Leisure app. You can also contact the centre for further information on 0115 901 3800.
Please follow the guidance below, and signage in the centre, when attending swimming sessions and swimming lessons from Tuesday 29 August – 4 September.
Swimming Sessions
- Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before the start of your swim session time.
- Where possible, please arrive at the centre with your swimming costume on under your clothing.
- Use the pool viewing area to remove your shoes and clothing on top of your costume. (If you do not arrive with your swimming costume on underneath your clothing, you must not change in this area, please use the alternative changing facilities in the lower building.)
- You will enter the pool via the double doors in the pool viewing area.
- You should store your possessions on poolside in the designated areas.
- After your swim you should collect your possessions and follow the one way system to the alternative changing facilities, where showers will also be available. There is strictly no changing on poolside, reception or in the pool viewing area.
- It is strongly recommended that you bring a dry robe / towel and appropriate footwear to use as you make your way from the swimming pool to the changing facilities. This is approximately a 20-30 second walk and includes an outside section as you move between the two buildings. *Outdoor areas will be matted and disposable footwear will be available on request.
- There will be no spectating of swimming sessions allowed in the pool viewing area.
Swimming Lessons
- Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before the start of the swimming lesson.
- Due to space restrictions only one supervising adult is permitted on site per child. Where possible, prams should be stored in the reception area and not taken into the pool viewing area.
- Where possible, your child should arrive to the centre with their swimming costume on under their clothing.
- Please use the pool viewing area to remove your child’s shoes and clothing on top of their costume. (If they do not arrive with their swimming costume on underneath their clothing, they must not change in this area, please use the alternative changing facilities.)
- Your child’s possessions should be kept with you in the pool viewing area.
- Children will enter the pool for their lesson via the double doors in the pool viewing area.
- After your child’s lesson they will exit the pool by the accessible changing room. You should collect your child from outside this changing room and follow the one way system to the changing facilities, where shower facilities will also be available. There is strictly no changing on poolside, in reception or in the pool viewing area.
